On February 10, 2023 Edge Computing Center LLC will hand over its tax processing functions to an affiliated company, Tug Tax LLC. As a subsidiary of Air Pittsburgh, Inc, Edge Compuing will focus on the development and testing of aviation software for unmanned aircraft. The company will mainain its status with the IRS as a Software Developer and a return Transmitter for tax years 2021 and 2022 for employment related returns and estate and trust returns. ABOUT US
Edge Computing Center, LLC is a software development firm located in western Pennsylvania. The company was formed in New Jersey in 2012 and was contracted to a large pharmaceutical and medical equipment company to develop software to track uncertain tax positions from 2014 until 2016 when the owner retired and moved to Pittsburgh. The company was reformed in 2020 when the owner came out of retirement in response to the economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June 2021 Edge Computing Center, LLC registered with the IRS as a Software Developer, an Electronic Return Originator, and Transmitter. Work commenced on the development of software to electronically file Quarterly Employment Tax return form 941. Upon completion of the employment tax project in December 2021, the firm commenced development of Trust and Estate Tax software for electronic submission of Form 1041. The software has passed IRS testing and is now in production.
In 2022 Edge Computing Center, LLC became a subsidiary of Air Pittsburgh, Inc. Its function was split between building tax software and developing and testing aviation software use for the navigation and safe flight of unmanned aircraft systems. The work that the company is doing will, at some point, be translated into development in automated driving systems for land vehicles.
